My blog

The Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo City, Philippines, is a renowned cultural destination showcasing contemporary and traditional Filipino art. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Joven Cuanang, its name, "Pinto" ("door" in Filipino), reflects its mission to make Philippine art accessible to all.

As I went to the museum I must admit that it was very difficult for me because it was my first time going there and it was tiring, but it was worth because the workers were friendly and helped me how to register for a ticket, there is a student discount which costs only 125 pesos. once I got the ticket I walked in and I saw different kinds of arts inside and out

As I explore the outside of the museum I saw large plastic bottles turned into a big tree, I was surprised and amused because people can really find art in many ways, instead of throwing plastic bottles away they transformed it into a beautiful art.

as I continue exploring the outside I saw a small chapel, I didn't bother going in because I saw someone praying and I thought that it would be disrespectful if I took a picture so I just took a picture of the outside.

after the chapel I saw a statue of Jose Rizal, one of our National hero, it's simple yet they worked hard to build it because its a symbol of their respect and for his sacrifices.

Once I'm done exploring the outside I inside. when I saw this artwork, I can see so many meaning behind it. Their struggles, life and death, betrayals, hope. The mural celebrates the humanity’s ability to endure challenges, remain connected to one another, and rise above adversity. It encourages the people to reflect on life’s struggles while also finding hope, beauty, and meaning.

Simple words but the meaning is deep, when I saw this during my exploration, I immediately thought of those Rebellious teens and their recklessness. The damaged motorcycle symbolizes the thrill, danger, and potential consequences of living fast and taking risks. It serves as a metaphor for youth's fearless pursuit of freedom, often at odds with societal norms.
This thought-provoking installation investigates the conflict between youthful rebellion and social caution. It invites viewers to consider the consequences of defying norms while also recognizing the allure of freedom and individuality.

as I continue walking I saw artworks about the forest and nature, what fascinates me about these arts is that I love to see trees on the side on the roads because every time I see a lot of trees I feel like I'm in a forest, it also adds on the aesthetic scenery.

For me this portrait, "we've been here for hours" represents how long we sleep because of our dreams, or how good the dream is. or they are daydreaming, like they are imagining a scene and they are lost in that moment for hours.

Overall in my journey, I really enjoyed exploring this museum because this is my first time going inside a museum, I learned a lot of things and art styles just by reading the descriptions! I can feel how much time and effort the creators spent on each art because of how beautiful they are and their efforts were worth it because a lot of people are visiting the museums praising their works.
